A can do a piece of work in 6 days and B can do the same piece of work in 12 days.

How many days will they take to complete the work if they work together ?

Answer: 4 Days

A can do 1/6th work in one day.
B can do 1/12th work in one day.

Working together, they can complete - 1/6+1/12 = 3/12 = 1/4 work in one day.

Hence they can complete the same work in 4 days if they work together.
 
A does 1/6 of work in one day
B does 1/12 of same work in one day
Both of them does (1/6)+(1/12)=1/4 of work in one day
Let x be the time taken by both of them to do the whole work

So they will take
(1*x)/4=1
From here
X=4 days
Both of them will take 4 days to complete the work
