Important points from the notification:

1> Consequential age relaxation is implemented. General merit candidates have 6 attempts, which means anyone who is born after 1st August, 1982, under general category is eligible to take up exams this year, provided they haven’t lost all their attempts.

2> Total Number of Vacancies to be Filled in 2014 Civil Services Examination is pegged at 1291 posts. This is tend to increase by the time we finish writing our mains and go for interview. There is an increase of 30%vacancies when compared to last year (when it was around 1000 posts).

3> Total Number of Vacancies to be Filled in Indian Forest Service is 85 posts.

4> Candidates have to apply online at http://www.upsconline.nic.in where complete instructions on how to apply are given.

5> LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS : The online Applications can be filled up to 30th June, 2014 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be disabled.
